BooksFundr - India's First Crowd Funding Platform for Books
Most of us are aware of the term – Crowd funding. It means getting funds for a project from like-minded individuals or those interested in it. How BooksFundr works?
1. Author submits two sample chapters/book synopsis along with the cover on the platform.
2.We confirm the total cost required in the publication of the book along with the Pre-order price and no. of pre-orders to meet the goal.
3.Upon author’s confirmation, the campaign is made live to fetch as many pre-orders as possible.
4.Buyers of pre-orders get those no. of published copies post the publication process is complete.
This exercise has multi-fold benefits:
1. Author does not shell out any money in the publication of his book.
2. His book gets instant publicity.
3. Pre-order buyers can indirectly help in sales via WOM (Word of Mouth) publicity.
4. Buyers who contributed a certain amount get those no. of copies in return.
5. If you consider writing another book and your first book clicked with readers, you already have a ready audience to participate in the pre-order campaign.
White Falcon Publishing does not charge any commission of the pre-orders. We calculate the expense in terms of publication services – cover design, inner layout, editing, inventory, distribution and confirm the pre-order goal.
