Book to Box Office at Film Bazaar 2022
Film Bazaar is the largest South Asian film market that happens every year alongside the International Film Festival of India (IFFI). It was held at the Marriott Resort, Goa, India in November every year. The focus is on discovering, supporting and showcasing South Asian content and talent in filmmaking, production and distribution. It also encourages creative and financial collaboration between the South Asian and International film communities.
This year, apart from the regular verticals, for the first time, Film Bazaar introduced a new vertical in the form of a dynamic program on Book Adaptations wherein well-established Publishing Houses and Literary Agencies were invited to present books that they envision as good potentials for adapting to Screenplay. This is the ideal platform for Publishers having a rich bank of books that they wish to commercialize further by making them into Feature Films or Web Series.
Invited to participate in the first ever edition of Book to Box Office, White Falcon Publishing pitched a few of its best books to the right audience. A catalog of select books was prepared and printed for ease of reference at the event. Copies of books being pitched were also displayed at Film Bazaar. Over the course of four days, the White Falcon team interacted with relevant stakeholders who were interested in exploring unique stories for adaptation into movies/web series.
